Parting Scenes

  1. Top photo: While we were doing the food distribution on Tuesday, Ryan Johnston (my nephew) took this baby while his mother picked up her food and clothing. This picture tells you why Ryan comes here, he has great compassion for kids, here and back home.

Next down: While we were working in El Rajon on Tuesday, this little 2WD Datsun pickup pulled up next to us, and 28 women and children (I counted) crammed into it, 24 in the back, 4 in the front. They were on their way to church in a neighboring village. Terribly unsafe, but away they went.

Next down: Another attempt to show you how steep it is in El Rajon. The only way to get to houses is those zig-zag paths, we carried all our tools up to work sites on such paths.

Next down: Our work crew on Tuesday paused for lunch in a house we had built and cemented. We were putting on the final touch, the front side with door and window. The young man in the white shirt, Evan, is sort of my bestest friend here, we've hung out a lot. I think he likes Keeci a little, but surely, he likes me for me, wouldn't you think?

Bottom: Me and some kids and a mom, we were finishing their house on Tuesday. I had some pop suckers I gave to them all.
